Breakfast Links Go Back to School

Date March 29, 2008

Alas, my spring break ends tomorrow. There is much lamentation by all. It was a good break though for cooking, making roasted red pepper pesto, a loaf of challah bread, and a pot of chili - all recipes that I will post in the future. For now, take a gander at some interesting links I saw this week.

Here is a YouTube video on how to peel a hardboiled egg. It also uses the phrase ‘with gusto,’ and that is always a good thing.

A new blog that I started reading, How to Cook Like Your Grandmother, has a recipe for homemade ranch dressing.

Here are some tips from Chocolate and Zucchini on keeping your greens fresh after you buy them. I especially like this for dealing with herbs, as the grocery store makes you buy a huge bundle of them if you want them fresh.

The Art of the Pig has an excellent post on knives and knife skills.

Mrs. W’s Kitchen has a recipe for easy salsa. I am all about easy recipes and salsa is delicious.

Enjoy your Saturday.

Thanks for the link, Andy. And I’ve tagged you for a meme, here.

Thanks for the link as well. I’ll add yours the next time I update.

It is a little slow now what with taxes, the wife is on Jury Duty and my spare time is now in the garden, but I do hope to be buying a pair of pork bellies Saturday a week as well as a pair of loins, so there will be something on fabrication, bacon making and smoking comeing up in the near future.
