Breakfast Links Take Everything Literally
April 5, 2008
I don’t have anything interesting to say, so straight to the links. The first one is funny, especially if you like Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything series.
- Funny picture.
- Joy of Desserts has an interesting post and video about Julia Child and cookbooks in musical form.
- Ben at What’s Cooking? is running a fun contest about your favorite childhood food or food your kids love. You can win some Tupperware too.
- Jerry at Cooking by the Seat of my Pants has 13 great kitchen tips.
- Deeba at Passionate about Baking has an interesting Panna Cotta recipe. It is something I wouldn’t normally think about making, but she makes it look easy.
- Cooking with Less Mess by Kathy at Start Cooking. Good tips here. I like to clean up as I am cooking as well.
- I always enjoy a good apple crumble, and Green Avocado obliges with a delicious looking recipe.
Have a great weekend.

cleaning as you go? anathema! i know it’s a good idea, but i don’t feel as though i’ve really cooked until all the surfaces in the kitchen are covered with dirty pots and grease splatters.

Thanks for mentioning my post about old cookbooks and singing cookbooks. It is unusual and most people aren’t aware of their existence.

Interesting links! Though I must admit that the baby in the pot is a bit disturbing…

Great links, Andy! Loved the baby pic
. My favorite clean-up tip is from Rachael Ray – use a bowl or dish to put your scraps in as you go. I know it creates another dish to wash but it makes it a lot easier esp. when you’re chopping up a heap of veggies for stews and such.

@Michelle: It is strange, I am a messy cook, but I can’t stand leaving it that way. I have to clean as I go.
@Marta: I like having a trash bowl a lot. That is good advice. It is impossible to carry an onion peel across the kitchen to the garbage can.
