Breakfast Links Are Impressed by Pig’s Head
May 31, 2008
This was an excellent week in the foodblog world, with many more articles and recipes that I’d love to link to. This upcoming week is the last one of classes for the quarter, so things are starting to get busy.
But…after the quarter ends (in two weeks), I am lucky enough to have the chance to go to New York City for the first time to visit. My girlfriend has family there and her plane ticket is free, so a half price ticket and free lodging is a great deal. I will be sure to take my camera to record all the culinary delights I eat.
Recipe of the Week:
Sweetie Pie’s Macaroni and Cheese – Anne at Cooking with Anne has an amazing looking recipe for macaroni and cheese. Macaroni and cheese was one of my favorite foods as a child (and still is), and a recipe that looked this good couldn’t be passed up. It is quite unhealthy though, so maybe make some vegetables for the side. Nice job, Anne.
Links:
- A commenter pointed out a great article at Foodblogga about whole grains. I just posted my first taste of bulgur, so this is a great follow up if you’re interested.
- eat me, delicious made some delicious looking sticky buns. I need to try these.
- This post is simply impressive. Carol at French Laundry at Home cooked a whole pig’s head, and at one point accidentally jammed her thumb into the eye socket, with the eye in it. Check it out – it is cool.
- Start Cooking has an excellent guide to making your own whipped cream. Now that you know the science behind whipped cream, just imagine those pockets of fat forming around the air!
- Last, Alosha at Alosha’s Kitchen was kind enough to award me with the Blogging with a Purpose award. So, thank you!

That is it for today – I’ll have a monthly recap tomorrow. Have a great weekend.

“and at one point accidentally jammed her thumb into the eye socket, with the eye it.”
Now, if that doesn’t make someone intrigued, I don’t know WHAT would. Hahahaha.
