Breakfast Links Visit Columbus
May 24, 2008
I am in Columbus today, Ben’s city of residence. A few of my friends from high school are graduating in a couple weeks, so I’ll be visiting them. No fear though - it has been a good week in the cooking blogosphere.
Recipe of the Week
Guajillo Salsa and Erstaz Papalote Salsa - The Paupered Chef has two delicious looking salsa recipes. I think salsa is something worth learning to make from scratch.
Links
- Jenn, The Leftover Queen, has two recipes for her faux gelato. Her goal is to open her own gelato shop, and I think she’s on the right track.
- Drew at How to Cook Like Your Grandmother has a recipe for an upside down apple pie. I don’t love pies, but this looks superb.
- The Kitchen examines why fruit turns brown.
- Peter at Kalofagas has what he calls “the ultimate Caesar salad.”
- Herve This is a world-renowned French gastronomer, who helped coin the term itself, molecular gastronomy. This article lists his 10 elements of basic kitchen knowledge. It is interesting how simple they are, but how key they must be for This to list them.
Have a great Saturday.
