Pyrex Baking Dish Giveaway!

Date July 18, 2008

I know I said I would do this a few weeks ago, but I got sick and it was put on hold. So, without further ado, I’d like to announce a giveaway in which you can win a free Pyrex 9×13″ Baking Dish!

I am running this just to say thank you to you, my readers.  So, thank you.

To enter, just leave any comment below (and be sure your email address is valid). The contest will be open until next Thursday (July 24th, 2008) at midnight eastern standard time when a winner will be picked randomly.  I’ll contact the winner by email and announce it on the site.

Other Rules: I will ship to anywhere that is reasonably priced. I’m not sure what shipping rates are to places outside the US, but I’ll check and send it international if the winner is a citizen of another country and the rate is reasonable. I reserve the right to remove anyone from the contest and change any rules. Only one comment per person. If you have plenty of baking dishes a different prize of equal or lesser value may be selected with my approval.

Good Luck! Just leave a comment!

Perfect for brownies, cake or casseroles and I love the lid. I used to work at Corning Glass Works, the maker of Pyrex. Interesting history of Pyrex a http://www.pyrexware.com. It was first used on railroads for lantern glass.

I’d love a chance to win this - I have a 7×11, but I don’t yet have a 9×13 of my own. I’m in Canada, though, so I’m not sure whether shipping would be reasonable.

I’m not entering the contest as we have more than we can use, however interesting Pyrex fact.

The 200″ mirror of the Palomar telescope was made of Pyrex and when cooled was shipped cross country via railway. Because of problems it was the second one cast and the first can be seen at the Corning museum in NY.

  22. Conor said:

    Just like mom uses.

Also, I do enjoy keeping track of your blog. Thanks for the give-away.

Oh I just have to share this story I hope you don’t mind. My boyfriend was going to surprise me by cooking me a big Turkey Dinner but what he didn’t know is that you never cook in a pyrex over 350 degrees or when you open the oven door and the cooler air hits it then it can explode. Which is exactly what happened~! So glass was every where and we ended up eating Hamburger Helper instead. He is still mad to this day and I don’t mention the word pyrex to him yet lol lol However I do need a new Pyrex dish now.

  26. Rhonda Mason said:

The only thing better than a pyrex dish is a pyrex dish with a cover!! LOL Thanks for the chance to win one!

  27. Andy said:

@ntsc: Very cool story - I had no idea.

@Rhonda: Wow. Thanks for the tip. At least no one was hurt!

    Keep the entries coming!
