creamy pumpkin soupFirst, I just want to say thanks to everyone reading.  If you’ll notice, my subscriber count is the highest it’s ever been.  Thank you!

Now, the top posts from the last month:

Most Pageviews:

The Truth About Cooking Beans – I found this post pretty interesting to write, as there are numerous ways to alter how quickly beans cook and their final texture.  I like the science behind it.

Most Comments:

Simple Creamy Pumpkin Soup – This soup was an epic struggle and is much more fun to look back on than it was actually making it.  It ended up tasting good at least.

Other Favorites:

Making Homemade Whipped Cream – I’m really glad I finally tried this – it turned out great.

How to Screw Up Mashed Potatoes – I learned something here.  And thanks for the tips Katie and Dave on how to keep my potatoes warm while I wait for other things to finish cooking.

Cooking 101: Mirepoix – I liked this post because I hope it will help my cooking in the future.  It seems like something useful.

Spiced Up Black Beans – This was my first attempt at cooking dried beans, and it turned out really well.

A Link to the Past (aka 6 months ago):

First Attempt at No-Knead Bread – I’m still working on perfecting my no-knead bread, and am getting pretty close to something I like (although it is actually based around Lahey’s recipe, not the one in this post).  Also, my cost analysis of no-knead bread (and the cost can be reduced significantly with a jar of yeast and Lahey’s recipe).

Types of Flour – Just a useful post, though perhaps not the most exciting.

Good month, good reviews Andrew. I’m still trying to get to some level of acceptability in no-knead bread & now feel that I’m alright with the knead ones too. Great to see the increase in readership…way to go! Congrats!!
