Delinquency
March 1, 2009
I have been delinquent. This is obvious.
What Happened?
It was a combination of long hours at work, and honestly, a little bit of burnout. I love cooking, but the writing can be tedious at times. Anyway, thank you to everyone who stuck around. I’m excited about blogging again, which is a good thing.
What’s the Plan?
One of the parts of blogging I liked least was writing recipes that turned out just average. Great recipes (see Calzones) are fun, as are failures (see bad paprika) since I usually learn something from them. I realized this when I made a chocolate cake from scratch. The cake was good, but I’ve certainly had better cakes, and if someone asked for a recipe, I’d tell them to find a different one. I didn’t feel like spending my time typing up a recipe that I don’t think people should use.
Going forward, my goal is to write things that are interesting: amazing recipes, Cooking 101, food science, failures and what went wrong, etc. I’m more excited about writing these sorts of things, and hopefully they will be more interest for you too.
On a side note, I started this blog one year ago today. Later today I’ll try to get a post up with links to my favorites posts over the past year. Thanks for reading.

I appreciate you not wanting to take up our time, too, with recipes that didn’t turn out that great. Looking forward to some good stuff!

Congratulations on a year of blogging!
I love reading about foodblogger kitchen failures. It’s important for us to remind each other that we’re not perfect, and mistakes happen to everyone!
